The Minutes of the March 9, 2017 Business Meeting are as follows:
* Meeting came to order at 7:00PM.

* Treasurer's report shows an account balance of $xxxxx.xx. Report approved by Lloyd N2KPC and Bill KD2JBJ.
* Don K2HCW reminds all that our Spring Hamfest is just around the corner on Sunday, March26th.
Lots of tail-gate sellers and several vendors expected. Details are posted on the JSARS web site.
* Don also reminds us that the ARRL Field Day event is the full weekend of June 24/25. JSARS participates
here on the fields of Riverwood Park. Its a few months away but we will need club member volunteers to
co-ordinate radio operations and contact logging.
* Cy KD2LME presented the meeting with a robot demonstration. Cy sponsors and supports a Toms River
Girl Scouts high school level robotics team (FIRST) called the "Transistors" that designs, builds, and programs
working robots for state wide competition.
* All club member nominations for all club office positions should be submitted by the May club business meeting.
Voting by paid up club members will take place during our June business meeting.
* Ricky KC2VXI and Charlie N1CRR presented the February JSARS ARRL Traffic Net summary:
Check ins 577
Messages in/out 28/28
Total Net Minutes 435
Sessions 28
Participants 605
* Jim WA2RJP advised us that we have received complaints that our Fusion equipped 440 digital repeater
has insufficient internet capabilities. This is due to limited internet service currently available at the repeater site.
JSARS welcomes any individual (s) who can contribute to expanding the repeater service to join us at a JSARS meeting
at Riverwood Park and make a presentation.
* Jim further advises that the club has a portable Fusion technology radio that any club member may borrow on a
limited time basis to educate themselves on this mode of operation. Contact Jim if interested.
* The club membership has re-confirmed its position on the use of echolink on the 146.910 repeater and the guidelines
agreed upon on September 10, 2015 remain as is. These guidelines are posted on the JSARS web site.
* Ricky KC2VXI has suggested the club form a committee to review the JSARS By-Laws and Constitution for any possible
up-dates. Steve KC2YQZ, our Trustee, will first have both current documents sent out for legal review.
* Total meeting attendees 33.
* Meeting adjourned at 7:44PM, approved by Lloyd N2KPC and Bill KD2JBJ.
