OLD BUSINESS

Jim, WA2RJP, noted that work had not yet begun on the water tower hosting the W2DOR 146.91 MHz repeater.  When the water company is ready to proceed, we will be notified to move our equipment.  The move should only take a few hours.  A contractor to the water company will do all the work.

Chris, K2HVE, suggested that Hamfest start times should be pushed back to 7 a.m. for vendors (instead of 6 a.m.), with buyers continuing to arrive beginning at 8 a.m.

He also moved that those passing the JSARS’ VE tests be offered a free year of Society membership.  Charlie, N1CRR, suggested that the membership only be to the end of the membership year.  The motion was amended and seconded by Brian, WA2FAX.  The motion passed.

Tom, KD2BVC, noted that KB9JJV wanted Hamfest pictures for the website.

NEW BUSINESS

Tom, KD9BVC, thanked Pauline, KD2NGS, for cleaning up the refrigerator after a power loss caused numerous soda cans inside to explode.

Glen, KD2FFR, noted the New Jersey Makerfest will be held Saturday, 20 October, at the former Ritacco Center, now known as the RWJBarnabas Health Arena in Toms River.  This is a free event with volunteers showing technical and art skills.  This will be JSARS’ third year participating in the event.  Pete, K3PMC, suggested that we let local schools know that there will be a ham radio exhibit and agreed to do the work.  He moved, and Steve, KC2YQZ, seconded that we send out notifications.  Tom, KD9BVC, noted we had literature to hand out.

Tom KD9BVC, noted that the ARRL Logbook contained important information such as the ARL numbered radiogram texts.

Total Attendance was 20.

The meeting was adjourned at 19:33 EDT after being moved by Charlie, N1CRR, and seconded by Pete, K3PMC.
