Meeting Minutes - February 2019
Jersey Shore Amateur Radio Society
Business Meeting 14 February 2019
The meeting was called to order at 19:00 EST by Vice President Dennis Dzwonek, KD2NAS. The Pledge of Allegiance was said, followed by a moment of silence and roll call.
Meeting minutes for January were read by Secretary Matt de Rouville, K3MR. Approval was moved by Dave, N2WCO, and seconded by Joe, KD2NAY.
Treasurer Joe Russo, KD2NAY, gave the January treasurer’s report. Approval was moved by Charlie, N1CRR, and seconded by Bill, KD2MZM.
Charlie, N1CRR, did not have figures available for the January JSARS traffic net, but noted they would be similar to December’s values except for net time, which included more minutes in December because of the Santa tracking.
Old Business
Glen, KD2FFR, announced that set up for the coming Saturday’s Thinking Day on the Air for the Girl Scouts would begin at 7:00 a.m. We hoped to set up 3 HF stations and one Fusion station, along with a Morse code station. Girls would be present from 9 a.m. until noon.
Charlie, N1CRR, noted that the multi-band HF antenna on the trailer had been damaged and snapped in half, and hoped that repairs with new tubing could be made quickly, perhaps in time for Saturday.
New Business
CY, KD2LME, asked if she could bring the Girl Scouts’ Robotics Team to an upcoming meeting (March or April), along with Girl Scout cookies. After discussion, it was agreed for them to attend the March meeting.
Jim, WA2RJP, noted that there was no news on the repeater location. The old water tower was currently covered with a tarp.
Total Attendance was 16.
The meeting was adjourned at 19:20 EST after being moved by Charlie, N1CRR, and seconded by Bill, KD2MZM.
