November 2006 Meeting Minutes

 
The minutes from the November 9, 2006 JSARS Business Meeting:
  • Pledge of Allegiance
  • Moment of Silence for troops over seas
  • Roll Call
  • Acceptance of Minutes for October 2006 Meeting. Motion by Frank, K2IYE, seconded by Chuck, K2RXN
  • Treasurer's report:
    • Phone bill automatically deducted from account
    • Post Office Box fee due
    • Reminder that Dues are due in January for 2007.
    • Motion to accept by Kevin, KC2NYQ, seconded by John, W2LXS
  • Old Business:
    • Repeater
      • Hum issue worked on and is a work in progress
      • Batteries were disconnected as they would not hold a charge
      • Power supply was damaged and has been disconnected and replaced with a temporary supply. The original is worked on by Jim, WA2RJP.
      • Watch the JSARS web site's forums for updates. Jim has been nice enough to keep us updated via the JSARS repeater forum.
    • Pine Barrens Express Road Rally need volunteers, contact Bill, KC2CNB
    • Toms River Founders Day Thank You and Photos were received and will be given to Jim, KC2OUT, to be posted to the JSARS website.
    • Sweepstakes (Phone) are next weekend (18-19 November 2006). The sweepstakes start at 4:00pm local time on Saturday and run through Sunday. Operators are wanted to come out and support the club.
    • Mike, N3ML, awarded Joe, N2XCD, the "Ham of the Month Award" for being "himself".
    • Holiday Party - Chuck, K2RXN, made a motion that the club use $150.00 for the Holiday Party. Frank, K2IYE, and Kevin, KC2NYQ seconded it.
    • Officers - The Vice President and Trustee were contacted. We will be having and election at the January 2007 regularly scheduled business meeting in order to replace these officers. Nominations should be done at the December 2006 meeting. Please vote in January.
  • New Business:
    • The Ocean County 4-H club would like us to set up a booth at the Ocean County Fair this year.
    • Channel 6 TV is doing a 1/2 hour spot on Amateur Radio.
    • The BBC is also doing a spot on Short Wave Radio.
    • The weekend after the monthly business meetings, we will be getting together on Sunday at the Old Country Buffet at 9:00 am (EST). The Old Country Buffet is located in the Seacourt Pavilion in Toms River.
