 MINUTES OF May 9,2024 JSARS BUSINESS MEETING

                    ECONOMIC REPORT:  KD2PGP informed of a phone call from a gentlemen asking about any knowledge of  all air waves(amatuer,airlines,military,all except for AM & FM was wiped out on May 9th 1330hrs for an Hr,,, Later to find out it was caused by large solar flares that has  effected this. K2HVE (Chris) commented that 6m, 40m,10m was booming  and  not effected,so who knows. WA2FAX mentioned the Canadians Praire QSO party of the 3 provinences,this weekend 1700 zulu -0300 hrs on the 12th.Also A special event is  "the golden spike celebration" W7G in Odgen Utah. Fri & Sat 40m, 20m phone and CW ,W7SU giving out a special QSO card. K2HVE commented about 6 weeks till 2024 Field Day, WB2BNB is having a set up and test equipment at thier home prior to field day. Chris saying setup at Riverwood Park and do lunch and all do not have to have radios set up just come out and use club radio or others sharing gear and have a great weekend of Summer Field Day 2024. also said N1CRR made a homemade beautiful 2M sideband antenna might get some 2m contacts for field day,KD9BVC said we will Pass some traffic for  MEGA points for the club. Stay overnight and have a great weekend of contacts,June22-23,2024. FOOD FUN AND CONTACTS so come out and enjoy, club & non club members are welcomed.(Rain or shine weather NOT effect the event). Also SAFETY is everyones concern. K2MD this saturday is military Amatuer affiliate stations crossband operations info on QRZ website. few ship broadcasting is the USS IOWA NEPM callsign, USS MIDWAY NIIW,in san diego, and USS YORKTOWN NWKJ , 25 different staions will be involed..  A list can be seen at BATTLE ship NEW JERSEY website as per WA2FAX. WA2FAX also mentiond LBI surf city HAMFEST "OLD BARNEY" 8AM -12PM . WB2BNB said june 2nd will open his house to test ur equipment at his home before field day, if you do not have good working equipment you can use someones at the park on field day.  N1CRR commented on his home built constructed VHF antenna .will help you with some of materials to get one fabricated. WA2RJP (Jim) All repeaters running good and no problems to report, The packet unit will be installed soon as get chance to climb up and get it running. Inventory is updated and givin to the club.

Brought to our attention that N2YQS (Mr.Rocky) is retiring from the amatuer radio band waves ,we figure cause of his license is expiring by end of May. We are going to see if we can help him renew his license and keep him on the air waves,thanks to WA2FAX for the help. N2wco(Dave) suggested  a friend come discuss and inform public/us about The Hindenburg Disater for Contributions for Cathedrel on the air. N1CRR announced is no longer interested as club Vice President and not interested in re-election. KC2VXI announced new modem installed on the echo-link repeater. 40 IP addresses for the club.

WA2FAX nominates AKA:Mrs.Ike , Joan as Secretary, Joan DECLINED position/nomination. WB2BNB nominates KC2KTH(John LeMay Jr.) 2nd by N2JRJ(Joe)

N1CRR nominates N2JRJ as Treasurer 2nd by AA2BD(Big D) 

 Trustees nominted by KD9BVC is N1CRR(Charlie) 2nd by K2HVE(Chris) also nominate WA2RJP(Jim),KC2VXI(Rick) Re-elected 2nd by N2JRJ(Joe) as Trustees.
