14 November 2024

 

  • Meeting came to order at 19:00.

  • Pledge of Allegiance and Moment of Silence, followed by roll call.

  • READING OF MINUTES Minutes from the last meeting were read. Motion to accept by N2LGS, John, seconded by N1CRR, Charlie.

  • TREASURY REPORT KD9BVC, Tom, gave treasury report. Motion to accept by N2WCO, Dave, seconded by N1CRR, Charlie.

  • TRAFFIC NET REPORT for month of October presented by N1CRR, Charlie. Motion to accept by KD9BVC, Tom and seconded by N2LGS, John.

    • 521 check-ins

    • 31/31 messages in/out

    • 496 minutes

    • 31 sessions

    • 552 participants

    • Round table total 80 participants, 290 minutes.

  • LOCAL NEWS AND RADIO REPORT

    • K2MD, Jerry Radio News – upcoming contests including ARRL contest on 16-18 Nov Sweeps Phone & CQ 23/24th November WWDX CW event. Discussed FT8 and club interest in focus on this mode. Update from NOAA/NSA – cycle is in peak now, so take advantage.

    • ARRL requested update from KD2PGP, Richie, re number of members and how many are ARRL members. Information to be provided to ARRL.

  • OLD BUSINESS

    • Dues coming up. Ensure call sign is on your check. (KD9BVC, Tom)

    • Christmas party is on! Please RSVP to Patti with headcount and what you are bringing. (KD2PGP, Richie)

    • Tom provided update on Joe’s status and has been picking up mail on his behalf. Thank you card rec’d from Jane re loss of her husband, Dave. Donation on Dave’s behalf pending.

  • NEW BUSINESS

    • Use of club station should use the club call sign only during events such as Field Day or contenting (NJ2AR). Otherwise, please use your own call. (KD2PGP, Richie)

    • Joan is still seeking contact for the newsletter. Please email content to Joan.

    • Winter Field day is planned.

    • Club is looking for training event opportunities. Charlie can deliver on many topics.

    • Recognized Jerry for his traffic handling training (KD9BVC, Tom). Jerry spoke encouraging use of the traffic system, even for simple messages, to develop skill. Charlie (N1CRR) added regarding the importance of having these skills, and how we are dependent on internet and software for much of our comms, which are easy to target.

    • Club batteries have been recently charged.

    • Fundraiser food drive postponed, but we will revisit when we can coordinate with ShopRite TR or other location.

    • Please drop off any clothing donations so we can coordinate a donation.

  • Meeting Closed at 19:35 with 14 attendees, so moved by KD9BVC, Tom, seconded by K2MD, Jerry.
