JSARS Business Meeting - October 11, 2007
The minutes from the October 11, 2007 JSARS Business Meeting:
- Meeting opened by the President, Don, K2HCW
- Pledge of Allegiance
- Moment of Silence for our troops
- Roll Call
- Minutes of September Meeting were read and accepted. Motion by XXX and seconded by XXX. All voted to accept
- Treasurer’s Report Noted and accepted. Motion by Brian, WA2FAX and seconded by Kevin, N2FA. All voted to accept
- Old Business
- A Thanksgiving weekend Hamfest was decided against. The club will concentrate on having one in the Spring.
- A Repeater work party was discussed including the linking of our Repeater to the Willingboro Repeater
- Pricing for JSARS' items being offered in Cafe Press will be researched
- Christmas Party catering options are being explored.
- New Business
- Project Kits were discussed. A Clock/Thermometer/ID Reminder had been seen by Don, K2HCW on the Internet. He said he would get back to that site to get more information. Ten-Tec receiver kits were also discussed as an alternative.
- Justin, N2TOH, suggested building a dual band J-Pole out of 300 Ohm twin lead wire.
- Jamboree On The Air - On 10/19-20 Local Boy Scout Troop #600 and Cub Scout Troop #160 will host a radio party at the Osbornville Baptist Church in Brick, NJ
- Traffic Net - good ???
- Repeater Interference was explained by Jim, WA2RJP. A low level signal occurs on 146.310 MHz without a PL. It is very intermittent and thus is extremely difficult to pinpoint an origin
- Megan Lange wished to thank all the members for the many can pull tabs, Campbell's Soup labels and Box-Tops for Education received so far
- Motion to Close the meeting by Brian, WA2FAX, and seconded by Mike, N3ML.
