JSARS Business Meeting - January 10, 2008

  • Roll Call
  • Don welcomed all present to the first JSARS meeting of 2008
  • Minutes of December Meeting were read and accepted. Motion by Brian, WA2FAX, and seconded by Chris, KC2OWB. All voted to accept
  • Treasurer’s Report Noted and accepted. Motion by Chris, KC2OWB, and seconded by Evan, KC2QPH. All voted to accept
  • A reminder was made regarding dues for 2008
  • JSARS Club Jackets are on order and should be available for pickup next Thursday, the 17th. T-shirts have also been ordered in a variety of sizes
  • Old Business
    • Trailer - JSARS is filing the necessary paperwork to transfer ownership to the club. Work on the trailer will begin soon
    • Winter Field Day will be Jan. 26th and 27th at Riverwood, noon to noon. Don suggested members and participants can begin arriving at 10AM on the 26th.
    • A group of Boy Scouts will be attending, possibly including an overnight stay
    • Lloyd, N2KPC said that waffles, chili, and breakfast sandwiches will be on the menu for both mornings
  • New Business
    • Spring Hamfest - We will try to decide on the best dates for the Club's Hamfests. The weekend covering Easter school break and a weekend in November seemed to be acceptable to all present. Sunday, April 13th, for our Spring event, will be checked for conflicts with other Ham events in our ARRL section
        Repeater News
      • * Packet BBS on Hanger 1 - a fix was applied to the 910 repeater
      • * 440 Repeater - removed for repair/refurbishment. It dies after 40 seconds of Up time. The RF section is dead. Don, K2HCW and Rocky, N2YQS will look into a possible fix.
      • *910 Repeater - The noise that users have been experiencing is still being investigated and attempts to remeadiate it are in process. Any major changes to the repeater will be announced both on the air and on the JSARS web site.
    • Darleen, KC2HCW, and Don, K2HCW will not be attending the February 14th meeting
    • Darleen, KC2HCW, Don, K2HCW and Valerie, KC2KGE will not be attending the May 8th meeting
    • Jim, KC2OUT, will be acting president for the above mentioned meetings
    • Welcome to our two newest members, Nancy, KC2SQD, and Corey, KC2MQM
    • The February meeting may also be a Valentine's Party for all.
